Hi, I have been on Klonopin for about four years. I am up to 4mg a day. I know doctors are reluctant to prescribe benzos. But if I am going to be on one I was wondering which one has the best effect on anxiety.
Seems like my Klonopin is pooping out. I know that the others work quicker and have shorter halflives. But do they work better.
Just wondering :)

Hi, I have alot of posts about this. But i had the reverse problem. I was on xanax for several years and it started pooping out. And my pdoc didnt want to go up on the dose, so she switched me to klonopin. been about a month or so now. Its good for my anxiety. But If I were you, I would ask to be switched to xanax. I had a good experiance on it. And personally, ativan sucked. I still had panic attacks on it..So, i wouldnt go that route..

i started on klonopin a week ago. it works great for me. it doesnt make me tired. i found that xanax made me tired and crany. i will keep you updated. i dont know anything about ativan. my vote is klonopin. good luck!

Thanks for the reply. How many milligrams did you start on? I've been on it for a long time and so I am up to 4mg a day. It really is a wonderful medication for anxiety.

well she says i can take .5 up to 4 times a day as needed. some days i dont take it at all. the most i take a day is 2 pills. your are so right, it is a great pill. whenever i get stressed or panicky i pop one and feel so calm within minutes. i give it 2 thumbs up. doesnt it feel good to have a pill that works? i love it. how long have you been on it. i started 2 weeks ago, so i am a newby. we should keep in touch to keep each other updated. have a good one.---jessica
