It did nothing for me. But then again, neither do many other drugs. Better to try memantine.

I'm on amantadine--to give an energy boost, and to possibly? counteract sexual SEs. On the latter--no help whatsoever. It did give me an anti-anhedonia boost for a month or so, it seems to have worn off. Although paradoxically, I'd get sleepy right after taking it, so I took it at night. I had actually agreed with my doc to try Provigil, but insurance made me try something cheaper first, so my pdoc prescribed the amantadine.I still wonder, though, if I should keep it around...someone mentioned it may counteract stimulant poop-out, and I may be seeking a stimulant next....

The vet just started my dog (st. bernard) on amantadine for anxiety related to her hip displaysia!
