Hello,
I've posted about my own treatment resistant depression and experiences with Parnate. Now, I'd like to ask a question on behalf of a friend. She read a book about manic-depression and rage, and recognized herself in what she was reading. Does anyone know where we can get more information specifically about manic depression that is characterized by rages? She will be seeing a doctor for the first time later this month, and she wants to be educated about what she's discussing. The first thing I noted is that she doesn't seem to have manic breaks with reality, so this must be some sort of atypical aspect of manic depression, and I'm not sure where to begin looking for information.
Thanks!

Rage can be a symptom of depression or mania/hypomania or mixed states.
However i can help you on one thing. The ultimate criteria, the universal denominator for this disorder is: "an accelerated mind." If you're not "accelerated (even a bit)" when you're supposed to be manic/hypomanic, then forget it, you're most unlikely not bipolar.
This is the end of the thread.
