your article didn't say anything about using these drugs for treating OCD, which hasn't been tied to suicide in any article to my knowledge or the knowledge of 2 doctors I use.

The main point of the article is not suicide, but that companies are exaggerating the benefits and not being as forthcoming as they should be about the side effects.

As a parent I won't I exaggerate the benefits of of their med, it's worked wonders! And soon as he has worked through his issues he will be off his meds. That's why I take him to 2 specialists 1 1/2 hours away sometimes every week to make sure we are doing the right thing.

I have a question, why are you on a mission to have us stop taking drugs. You stopped and seemed happy. Why keep posting? Obviously some of us take drugs for a reason. Just a question, not meant to harbor any ill will. Just my OCD mind working overtime. :)

I first found Psycho Babble because I had a terrible experience with Effexor. I did not know anything about Effexor when it was prescribed to me. Nor did I know Psycho Babble existed. I learned about them both by doing a Google search. It is very fortunate that there were people who had posted about their experiences as I benefited from what they had to say. I would hope someone could find some benefit in what I have to say. I am not against drugs for people who need them, but I think there are reasons to be cautious.

I also found out through Psycho Babble that Tryptophan is now legal. That is the reason I am now taking it. Otherwise, I would have continued in the same miserable ignorance I've been in for the last 10 years. I'm thankful there were people who posted about it and I'd like to help others benefit as well.

Wishing you and yours continued good health..
