Lexapro sexual disfunction

Posted by KikiCabell on December 14, 2004, at 18:14:24

As a woman, I have had trouble having an orgasm for about six months. This coincides with the addition of two meds - Keppra and Lexapro. I have reason to believe it is the Lexapro, but am not certain. Has anyone else suffered this side effect with Lexapro.

Thanks and peace and love to all.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes (the sound of agreement - not orgasm). SSRIs cause sexual side effects for both sexes. This is a rare side-effect only in that people rarely don't experience sexual side-effects on SSRIs.

Adding Wellbutrin to Lexapro is a common method of dealing with sexual side-effects, but it doesn't always (or often?) work very well.

Thank you for your reply. I was taking Wellbutrin before I was switched to Lexapro and had no sexual side effects just as you mention. However, I had a series of seizures this summer and the Wellbutrin was blamed so I can't take it anymore. :(

I am taking only 5mg of Lexapro and no matter what I do there is no orgasm. I have tried adding 150mg of Wellbutrin XL and it didn't help at all.

i think i found something that helps!!

my gf started taking MycoMedicinals natural remedy for women (there's a men's one, too)... and it WORKS!

I'm so happy. :)

I presume the men's one will be just as effective.

they're not herbals, but they're mushrooms! Who'd've thought?

good luck,
