Spent the day at the hospital because I fractured my wrist this morning and ended up having to have surgery to have two pins put in. Now have a cast up to my elbow. The pain killers seem to help. Met lots of nice, friendly people in the hospital. So glad this happened the last day of the year instead of the first day of the new year. I'll take that as an omen that 2005 is going to be a good year for me.
Anyways, wishing everyone a safe and healthy new year. May 2005 bring with it lots of love, laughter, happiness and peace of mind for each of you.
Take care.
Tamara

Same here; I spent the last inpatient for a spinal tap and they didn't do it until 2:30am, and it was the first time for a lst year resident. Just got released, and so far results indicate no more Lymes Disease. Happy New Year to you!

I am interested to hear about your Lyme Disease. I too had LD, and they said I had gotten rid of it by just taking antibiotics. I often wonder if it is connected to my psychiatric symptoms even though I think I had symtpoms before I got LD. Does your psychiatrist think it may have something to do with your symptoms?

Tom, the Doctors at Pitt Memorial {big teaching facility} told me that there is still so much they don't know about Lyme's. They really don't know all the damage it can cause neurologically. The only thing they could tell me was that my spinal fluid was clear and showed no sign of Lymes. The blood work shows I have had Lymes, but it is not active at this time. I have a terrible backache from the spinal tap. I also requested a psych evaluation because I do not like my pdoc at all. They asked me if I wanted to be admitted to Psych floor and I said no. I really don't need to be around really psychotic pts while W/D and feeling so mentally and physically bad. Hope this Helps. Respond if you have more info. You can BabbleMail me if you like. Phillipa.
