I need some help from anyone who is depressed and anxious (anxious depression). I am taking Cymbalta 80 mg, Paxil 17.5 mg Cytomel 20 mcg to augment and Xanax 2 to 4 mgs depending on the severity of my anxiety.
I have not had a robust reponse to the ADs, mainly because I was on Paxil for 4 years and quit for 3 years and felt great. Then the anxious depression came back and I bombed on Zoloft, Lexapro, Remeron and finally onto to Paxil which didn't work the second time around.
I am getting some relief now which can last from 3 to 10 days, but eventually I have a relapse. It is invariably preceded with a chilly cold feeling, almost prodromal, so I know it's coming. I wonder if anyone has ever experienced anything like this.
According to my pdoc, I am not bipolar and have some OCD mild. He is clueless about the chill cold feeling symptoms, but there is no doubt in my mind that there is some relation. BTW, my thyroid is ok also.
Thanks for your help and I appologize for making this so long.
Regards,
BobS.

I also have the chills and the coldness. It's worst for me around an anxiety attack. I'm still looking for a treatment that works, and so don't have any suggestions, really. But thought I'd give a shout-out to let you know that you're not alone.

You may have looked into this already but just in case you haven't, make sure that your TSH test is within the new "normal" range. Some physicians still go by the old standards which are now considered hypothyroid. The new guidlelines suggest people should be under 3 with many doctors arguing that the number should be more like 2. Of course labs may vary as well.
