Dear group members,
I have now experienced for the second time very beneficial effects of DISCONTINUING Effexor XR. I went from a five week trial of Effexor at 300 mg/day to zero mg/day in four days. This was followed by a nearly complete cessation of depressive symptoms as well as social phobia (which I suffer from in a very serious way). This betterment, however, is not stable and vanishes about a week later. I additionally take Lamictal at 200 mg/day
Does anyone have similar experiences? And, most important, does anyone know how to stabilize these effects (which my psychiatrist calls "rebound effects")?Jochen

It could be hours, it could be days. However, I don't think it will last for more than two weeks. I hope you are an exception, and that your improvement lasts forever. Stranger things have been known to happen.
