As I posted above the other day, Abilify and the combo of other meds I am taking, are giving me the worst anxiety I have ever experienced....one year ago I did not feel this way. In addition, I seem to be in one of my downswings and am increasingly depressed and have no energy or desire to do anything. I am gradually approaching a point where I know I start cutting, just little cuts but they help....if that makes any sense to anyone. Please, I need some advice about how to get through the next few days until the mood swings back up, I am in a cycle right now and am hoping if it follows other patterns it will only last a couple of days. I am feeling pretty desperate right now, last night I was in hysterics.......Help

Hi:
I recall in your first post, above the other day, ... Abilify and other 'stimulant,' ... 'Concentra(sp?)' might started more 'activating' with time. However, I have NO good clue how many days you've been on this med. regimen.Beside this, ... 'cutting' is certainly 'depression' you have. In order to alleviate your 'inner' pain, you've started acting 'self-harm' to easy the enomous pain you're going through.
In my suggestion, ... you DEFINITELY need to change from the Abilify(Stimulant A.P.) to a calming type of A.P., such as Zyprexa(small dosage, 2.5mg.) OR, 'Seroquel'(high dosage, ... because of 'mildest' A.P. among A.P.s). You might need to cut down two 'stimulant' meds. in the first place before jumping into a more effective A.P. Or else, ... you might be able to take the 'Abilify' if you could find a med. which is capable to 'counteract' the 'stimulant' effect from taking the Abilify, as recalling you're happy about the Abilify due to no weight issue.
In my suggestion, ... if you're unable to get a 'sooner' appt./next week, then ask a 'nice and helpful' pharmacist whether you are able to take some 'sedating effective med.,' even Benadryl(?) or any 'over-the-counter' meds. to counteract the S.E., from the Abilify. However, I am NOT quite to sure to suggest this, about asking a pharmacist to find a 'good' counteracting med.

I know that my mix of meds is wrong and the doc is out of town probably presenting my case! I am trying to muddle through thanks to you and other folks who have been through this sort ofthing. don't know exactly why the depression except that i am cycling rather rapidly, something doesn't agree and it may be the stimulation of the meds. I may try some plain benadryl, have some in the house. Have some of everything in the house, it is like a pharmacy here, what havoc one could wreak.

I've read that Ambilify is activating. Fondly, Phillipa
