Finally a positive change ????!

Posted by linkadge on March 3, 2005, at 11:36:21

The doctor listened !!! I can't believe it he actually took my suggestion.

He is going to taper off zoloft, give anafranil a try, in addition to sticking with the lithium.

Wish me luck I certainly need it.

I got 53% on one midterm, and failed the other.
I need some "high octane" mood brighteners right now.

Linkadge,

That is wonderful news! Your persistence has paid off! YAHOO! I am so very happy for you. I will keep my fingers crossed that you respond well to the Anafranil. You must be so relieved that you are being listened to.

My good thoughts are with you. Wishing you all the best. Take good care of you.

Whoo-hooo! I am so happy that your pdoc listened! I hope the anafranil helps. It will make you sleepy which is probably a good thing.

Don't worry about marks or school now. YOU ARE MORE IMPORTANT!

Peace,
Maxime

Linkadge-
I seem to run into your posts a lot, so I have inadvertently been following them....I'm happy for you and you should also be proud of yourself for hanging in there and that you got yourself somewhere even though it was very hard. That is an accomplishment, really. So, good job, and good luck. I hope the changes work for you.

Woke up kind of feeling weird. A "lights on but nobody's hope type of feeling"

I hope it doesn't make me excessivly dumb.

Hi Link!

Good luck with the Anafranil :-)

I hope you're starting with a nice low dose and titrating slowly - or else you might feel a bit spaced out!

Ed.

You might feel like that for the first few days to a week, but that feeling shouldn't last (at least it didn't for me). It didn't make me excessively dumb either, so I wouldn't worry about that. What time are you taking your dose? Perhaps if you take it around dinner time and then again around 8 or 9 depending on your dose (my pdoc had me split the dose - once at dinner, once a couple of hours before bed), you might minimize the morning grogginess.

Good luck.

Yes, I did feel a little bit spaced this morning.

Only took 12.5 mg. 25mg tonight.

I'm sure the spaciness will go away - it is a temporary thing as a result of start-up side effects. I found after about a week, my thinking seemed even clearer. If you are not already doing so, perhaps try taking your dose a little earlier in the evening (around 6 pm with dinner) so that you are sleeping through the worst of the side effects.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that this is the "one". Good luck Linkadge.

How are you tolerating the 25mg? Has the spaced feeling subsided? Have you noticed any therapeutic effects yet? I hope it is going well for you and that you will be able to increase your dose further.

Best wishes,

Tamara
