Hello,
Given the slow but progressive increase of anxiety over the past two weeks I contemplate raising my Luvox dose to 100mg.Not thrilled, I already take plenty of meds but the anxiety seems to be increasing and impinging on my functioning more and more.
Given that it slows coffee metabolism, anyone know what clear signs of caffeine toxicity look like? I assume a racing heart is one of them....
I know I need to give up the coffee; it may seem petty to you, but it is my one and only security blanket, and serves to paradoxicaly calm me down when nervous....I do hope to give it up soon..
So has anyone out there experienced caffeine toxicity?

i take 250 mgs of luvox and i notice no difference in the amount of caffeine i drink---it doesnt have any more of an effect on me. I assume you take 50 mgs. Thats a pretty low dose, i wouldnt see any reason not to bump up to 100mgs.

Thanks for the response! I should have mentioned--yes, I do take only 50mg Luvox now; but actual blood levels are higher due to interactions with other medications. But it is encouraging that you notice no problems at that dose...
And obviously if push came to shove I'd drop the caffeine, not medicine! but hope I would not have to give caffeine up entirely.B.

I've always been afraid of caffeine with anxiety as my last really bad panic attack was after a Starbuck's iced coffee. But my TSH was up also. Fondly,Phillipa
