my mom was just stared on lexapro. she is 67 and has been through alot . she babysits for 2 grand kids mon-fri and takes care of my dad who just had horrible back surgery and depends on her for everything. She is on the end of her rope she is going from doctor to doctor , test to test, therapt 3 times a week. bathing a 200 pound man who has practically given up and the doc prescribed her lexapro because he noticed her depression and anxiety at my dad'd appt. she's on 10 mg. when is the best time to take it so she isn't sluggish because she such a busy woman or should she suggest something else. any experiences or any advice?

So sorry to hear about your Mom and Dad. Has she taken the med yet? When did the doc tell her to take it? It seems that many people do better with am doses of AD's and some do better with pm doses. Usually they Rx them for the am. Maybe she can start with a really small dose and see how it affects her. Fondly, Phillipa

I take lex in the morning, then go to my office job, and I don't feel tired.
I did notice that when I started ADs, I did need to get about half an hour to an hour more sleep a night.
