Posted by cockeyed on June 2, 2005, at 23:29:47

Could anybody inform me if this is the name of a tranquilizer which was recalled or removed from the market. If so, why? And what was it? Also has anybody had experience with a drug called posicor. thanks, cockeyed.

hey! The only info I could find was that in some countries Azene is the tradename for clorazepate, a minor sedative (benzodiazepene) marketed in the US as Tranxene. Here in the US Tranxene is definitely still on the market--I've taken it, and some docs love it b/c they think it lacks the addictive potential of, say, Xanax. However, I could see why someone might pull brand-name Azene; in the US, Tranxene isn't all that popular, and it definitely isn't given very often in brand name form.
