Hi there, just curious, my GP is not found of lorazapam thank god I had some backed up from emergency, he started me at 37.5 mg for the first two weeks side effects were brutal, I got headaches majorly, back pains, chest pains, heart pains, spasms and shakes. Then I was increased to 75 mg, I still get major chest pains as if the heart is going fast but its not, at times when I do physical activity, the heart does go fast and I do get dizzy, could this be the effexor, it sometimes feel as if my chest is glued to my boned laugh out loud, so does anyone know what this could be the other side effects are less but the chest pain/hearburn/nausea is still major, and heart beating going faster, out of the four weeks I been on it, ive only had one anxiety attack which is why im on it, and had to take lorazapam but the doctor will not perscribe it, any suggestions guys?

Yes, there is a definate propensity (at least with me) for effexor to cause similar unpleasant cardiac effects. I would personally ask for a beta blocker such as attenolol, which should definately help. There are some other cardiac meds that are used in these situations but I am not familliar with their names.
