Hello Med,
How are you finding St. John's Wort? I hope it's helping :-) You posted that you were taking a high dose.
Kind regards
Ed

hi! I'm enjoying st. john's wort. I'm down to 1800mgs of the standardized extract (I think that's 2X the usual dose). Its pretty good. Sometimes I feel like my brain chemistry has been corrected, but my self-defeating thoughts remain; for example, I'll feel relatively calm, ready to face the day but still have the old thoughts that I've dealt with forever...its just kind of odd, having these rambling, negative thoughts rolling around; they seem so foreign now. Thanks for asking!

Hi Med
Nice to hear from you :-) Btw, I just responded to your post on the 'parents' board.

I think it is. 300mg three times per day seems to be a popular dose.

It sounds like it's really helping :-) Perhaps the negative thoughts will disappear in a few weeks time. Even after a drug has elevated mood, cognitive changes can be slow to follow.
Warm regards
