After 4 days at just 2.5mg Abilify, I've noticed a calming and slight AD effect of this med. I can definitly say it is smoother than most anticonvulsants I've tried, maybe because of it's long half life. Now my only concern is if this med ends up working for me that I will be worrying more as time goes by about tardive dyskinesia!
I take it in the evening and about 11:00am the next day, about sixteen hours after dosing, I get nauseated for a couple of hours plus mild headache. Will this nausea side effect go away in most cases? The only other side effect is feeling a little warm, like I have a fever but I don't.
Also, it it safe to try Concerta with Abilify? I won't be considering doing this for at least a month into my Abilify trial, but was curious to know.

My current cocktail includes Abilfy at 15 mgs/d; Dexedrine at 40 mgs/d; Provigil at 200 mgs/d; and Wellbutrin at 300 mgs/d. I have been on this combo for about two years and I am still alive. However, I do not know enough about Concerta to transpose my experience with Abilfy and Psychostimulants to Concerta.

That's quite a combo you got in there. Besides "being still alive," how is that working out for you in terms of treating your depression? Are you able to socialize easily? Do you have energy to get out and get things done? Are you happy in general?
TO OP:
I tried abilify once, but stopped it after 3-5 days because I felt totally nauseous and sick. I didn't feel any good effects and the side effects were too much to bear at that point (I was going to school and was already doing poorly due to depression) so I could not make it even worse by adding nausea and headeaches to my already paralyzing depression. Never wished to try it again because of how sick I felt the first time.
But if you have a situation where you can tolerate the side-effects for a few days without screwing up your life, the best bet is to try it. Some side-effects diminish or disappear after a few days of tolerating, so it might be worth trying.

I can't help much - I only took Abilify for one day. I took half of a 2.5mg tablet and next morning woke up with a killer headache that last for three days. I never have headaches so it had to have been the Abilify.I do know most start up side effects usually pass fairly quickly.

I've been taking Abilify 2.5mg for about 2 years and have done very well with it as for its AD effects. I also take Concerta 36mg. Perhaps you should take your Abilify in the morning so that the side effects will occur when you are asleep, that's when I take mine and the side effects were barely noticeable.

How do you like the combo of Abilify and Concerta?
The reason I ask is I may be starting Concerta in a few weeks after I get a read on the Abilify.

Do you take them both together in the morning?

Sorry I wasn't back sooner to answer your questions. yes, I take them together in the morning. I find they work very well together. I have tried several different dosages of Concerta but find that 36 works best for me.
