I have been taking 300mg Wellbutrin for about 4 months now. Prior to that I was taking Wellbutrin and lexapro for 2 months and felt great, but the lexapro made my hair start to fall out. And before that combo, I was taking effexor and wellbutrin, which worked well for a few years but eventually couldn't take effexxor's side effects.
So, anyway, I have been determined to try just Wellbutrin because I am SOOO tired of these drugs. However, in the past few months, I have become incredibly hormonal. First, tons of bad acne. Second, HORRIBLE PMS with cramps almost ALL month. I used to have light to non-existent periods (have been on the same pill for about 8 years) but no longer. The PMS is lessening each month as are the periods. So, part of me wants to stick it out. But, I am having horrible mood swings, which remind me of when I was 13 and a clueless pediatrician put me on progesteron when I had ovarian cyst problems. Kind of like out of control emotions and HUGE sex drive. Has any one else experienced Wellbutrin-- or another AD -- having such impact on hormones? Does it lessen? Should I tough it out some more?
I am on the verge of calling my pdoc but am just so tired of these damn meds, especially after lossing 30% of my hair to lexapro.
Any thoughts and experiences would be so helpful!

All I know is that Wellbutrin is supposed to be stimulating and help with wt loss. It did make me hypomanic though. Had to stop after one week. Fondly, Phillipa

Wellbutrin made me very emotional! I had to stop taking it because I felt as if I was having SEVERE PMS 24/7. I was mean, hateful, etc. (I am bipolar II anyway, but that was hell) I don't want to take it alone again, I know that much. I have tried to take it along with Zoloft, but I feel as if it makes me start to get that mood swing thing going again. The Zoloft kills the sex drive. -L
