OK...first my med regime:
80 mg fluoxetine a day
4 mg klonopin (clonazepam) a day
10 Zyprexa a day
200 mg Seroquel at bedtime
100 mg nortriptyline at bedtime
50 mg Topamax at bedtime.Yes...sounds crazy...but I am a very big, heavy, tall guy, and I need the bigger doses. My "official" diagnosis is BPII. Ever since going on the Prozac, and an extent to the nortriptyline, I have gained massive weight.(Yes, Zyprexa did cause initial weight gain.) The Prozac and nortrip seem to be triggering some havy ups and downs in mood. Anger has also become a major problem. I take a bunch of clonazepam, am fine, but after many times, run out of it. Plus, my sex drive is DEAD...just plain dead. This is not acceptable, as I have been on these meds for many years. It's time I got my cake and eat it to. ;-)
So I am thinking a few things...(while taking away Prozac and nortrip) and would really appreciate other's responses
-try adding Mirapex
-try Strattera (afraid of anxiety...but heard it was not so bad)
-already tried all stimulents and Welbutrin....YUK!(for me, anyways.)
-serzone not avail. in Canada anymore :-(Any help..please. I've tried the tricyclics (well others besides nortrip) and they did no good.
Any help is greatly appreciated..
Thanks,
Jay

Haven't tried Lamactil. I got a good semi-high dose of Risperdal from the doc today, and this is a med I react very good to. :-)
So, there are still many other med options...but I will try my hardest to keep soldiering on..heh.
Thanks...and best..

That's quite a med combo you're on. It must be hard to know what is helping and what isn't. Fondly, Phillipa

No matter what you decide to do, it's going to be hard because there will be withdrawal syndromes that will make it difficult to tell what's going on. It will be even more complicated it you change more than one med at a time. There is a lot of interplay between prozac and nortiptyline...change prozac for example and it will change the nortriptyline at the same time.
Not sure about the seroquel zyprexa combination. It might be an idea to go with one or the other but not both.
Believe it or not, you might actually do better by not changing any meds, but instead, lower the doses. Really. Contrary to popular belief amongst doctors, more is not always better, and is often worse. There are a few docs out there who, when their patient comes in saying they are feeling better, say "Great, let's lower the dose".

Hi J
Lamictal can be good for depression. Are you interested in trying it?
