I was on Lithobid for about two years and went off of it a couple of months back , I was only taking 900 mgs ( 3 x300mgs) I want to get back to that level.. does anyone know what dosing schedule I should do and how long it takes for the effects of the Li to "kick in"?

When I was taking 900mg/day of lithium, I took one 300mg capsule in the morning and two capsules (600mg total at night). As I understand it, it is acceptable to take two pills at once, but you must keep your doses spread out (at least eight hours apart, especially if you're taking two pills at once), to make sure that the lithium doesn't accumulate in your blood too quickly.
Lithium generally kicks in more quickly than most psychoactive drugs. In all likelihood, it should only take a few days (if not fewer) for it to kick in.
