Provigil

Does Provigil have less or more cardiovascular activation than caffeine?

I found an article with the following quote "...Dr. Dale Edgar, feels that Provigil would have less impact on the cardiovascular system than caffeine".

Obviously there's not a direct mg-per-mg correlation, but I'm skeptical that provigil would be less activating than caffeine.

Another article I read said that patients had an average increase in heart rate of 6 beats per minute after a 100 or 200 mg dose (can't remember which). That actually seems like a lot--360 additional beats per hour!

Can anyone provide some feedback on this?

For me, after about a week the cardiovascular effects of provigil were no longer noticable, not that they were that strong in the first place. For me at 200 mg a day, Provigil was VERY clean. Doesnt feel like caffeine or amphetamines at all. Its a very specific cognitive activating effect. If I go off caffeine for a month or so and then one day drink a red bull, or cappucino. The cardiovascular effects are VERY noticable. I feel like running a freakin marathon.

However, when provigil was first introduced, I never had that intense cardio effect. It was noticable but only if you were just sitting around. If you start exercising, there was no significant additive effect on hear rate or blood pressure for me. However, caffeine is the exact opposite. Hope this helps!
