So I'd been on the 20mg patch for about 6 weeks and decided to start cutting it in half this past Saturday, partly in preparation to get off of it and partly to see if maybe 20mg was too much maybe.
For a few days, I actually did feel better, very noticeably dopaminergic feeling with some feelings of sex drive and emotion that had been totally dead since I took prozac and quit more than a year ago. I would say I felt closer to my 'normal' self than I have in years.
Now the libido/emotion thing has faded a lot, which sucks cause I am back to feeling numb, and I feel really weird in general. Increased anxiety at times, reduced anxiety at times, a weird and slightly unpleasant sort of 'cold' feeling running down my legs and sometimes in my arms and hands, some diziness and disorientation, increased depression, not much fun. I can't really tell what symptoms are due to withdrawal from the higher dose and what are due to the change in mao inhibition that is probably going on. And as always with me it's hard to say what problems are due to chronic insomnia.
Like I said I guess it feels more dopaminergic, mostly cause it feels very little like an ssri. On 20mg I was discouraged because I was getting similar feelings to being on ssris, like a general numbing feeling that serotonin causes, and I want to avoid that at all costs because that feeling never wore off from prozac and is what killed my sex drive and sensation perhaps permanently. I think others have done half a patch for at least a little while - anyone feel a really marked difference at this dose? Also, has anyone withdrawn from emsam that can describe how it felt? Thanks.

Wow are you first to withdraw from the Patch? I wanted to see everyone succeed. Love Phillipa
