3rd day on 50mg amisulpride, added to previous regimen of 37.5 mg tianeptine, daily, in hopes of getting better antidepressant effect.
So far, I believe I have had a modest boost in mood-level, but the experience is greatly complicate by side-effects. I have experienced:
A mild increase in insomniaFatigue and daytime somnolence, independent of not-sleeping. Similar to 'leaden fatigue' experienced by atypical depressives, in which body and limbs feel too heavy to move
Bradycardia--relative to my normal state, my heart beats slower. I just measured my pulse at 60 per minute--about 15 lower than I would normally expect it to be. I have not checked my blood-pressure.
Some anterograde amnesia(a form of memory loss, where new events are not transferred to long-term memory. The sufferer will not be able to remember anything that occurs after his attention is shifted away from one subject for more than a few seconds)
____________________Whatever mood and motivation benefits I'm getting (and I probably am getting some), seem to be obscured by the fatigue and other side-effects. It is a strange experience, but hopefully some of the side-effects will disappear or reduce to a point of manageability.
Here's hoping I can drag something good out of this. I am considering switching to Mirapex for broadly similar D2/D3 effects--this is, after all, a rather difficult experience. Perhaps reducing the dose to 25mg or so would reduce side-effects?

In my experience, the insomnia goes away. Never experienced any kind of amnesia, though.

Thanks to those who gave input! I'll try and reduce the dose and hope for fewer side-effects.
As of day 5, I believe I've experienced sedation and mood-depression immediately post dose (50mg), which counters a more general mood-elevation. I am switching immediately to 25mg, (and possibly less in a few days) and moving the dosing to evening, to make use of sedation. I may go down lower as some have advised--I believe I feel better, having skipped taking my dose today until this evening. But the days have been flying past--I just don't seem to mark time the way I usually do--slight memory problems? Sedation? Who knows. Strange experience, really, but not really unpleasant.
Take care, all
