Combining both Celexa and Lexapro????????????????

Posted by qbsbrown on October 9, 2006, at 17:14:37

Reasons, sorry they are long. Plus my PDOC said it could be an option, and there shouldn't be any interactions.

I am really struggling between lexapro and celexa, and why such different reactions. Both have some great benefits, and some bad.

On celexa i love that i can:

sleep, close my eyes, and be non-obsessional
that it stops some obsessional things such as chronic needing to have liquid near by and drinking all of the time
that i can sit still and be fine at work

cons: that i can't eat much
that my derealizations is bad, which in turn, makes me not want to go out anywhere, too uncomfortable-this is terrible
driving is more difficult

Lexapro:
I have NEVER had a lift of derealization as i did on 10-15mgs, even depression, and wanting to go out w/ friends, and feeling in tune w/ reality and my surroundings. i've been begging for this for 5 years
began going out to resturants by myself
not irritable
can drive easier
regulates my eating habits

cons:
can't sleep. need at least 2 ambien
i need more than double my benzo intake
can't sit still at work
still have obsessional issues such as liquid, obsessing/racing/ruminating thoughts while trying to sleep.
feel on edge, although i can watch movies in the theater, and eat in restaurants greatly at 10mgs
What can I do? I absolutely HATE the derealization. I don't know why i can sit still at work better on celexa, why it makes it harder to drive and watch movies, and be in public.

But i hate the racing thoughts and not being able to sleep.

Perhaps lexapro and seroquel?

Thanks for the advice people.

Regards,

Brian

My 32yr old Daughter is on zoloft 50mg and seroquel 50mg. It took about a week for the seroquel to give her a good night sleep. But the old Ali seems to be back laughing and joking. Maybe to doubting Tom me seroquel does work? love Phillipa
