Hello! I'm just wondering if this is normal. I began taking 20 mg. of Prozac along with 30 mg. Buspar around 6 months ago. Up until this point, I had been on, at one time or another, literally every other SSRI on the market for the past 8 years. The Prozac/Buspar combo worked wonders. But recently, I began to start feeling depressed again (down in the dumps, amotivated, binge eating sugary foods, impaired digestion, etc.). So I went to see my GP and she suggested that I increase the Prozac to 30 mg. until I can get in to see a p-doc (which I do have an appt. scheduled for). But I swear, since I made the increase, I actually seem to feel WORSE. And very "out of it", as well. I just don't get it. Can anyone share Prozac (and/or Buspar) experiences? What's wrong with me??? Thank you.

I think since your pdoc prescribed the prozac for you this warrants a call to him. And I'm sure he won't mind. Love Phillipa

Some people actually feel worse on Prozac, so it is possible that the higher dose made you worse. Prozac made me more depressed, even though I was okay on other SSRI's. When is your pdoc appt? You might want to go back down on the prozac if you really think that it is making things worse.
best,
EE

I was just thinking...could switching to the name brand vs. the generic version of the drug make a big difference? Have any of you who have been on Prozac noticed that the name brand is more effective?? I am currently taking the generic, and I've actually switched to a different generic from the one I was originally taking within the past few months (I guess there are several companies who manufacture the generic). Just a thought.

Jessica a very good thought as they do vary by as much as 20% either way I believe. Love Phillipa
