I've taken lamictal for a few years... and I really have no idea whether it has affected my skin in general- it could be related to certain skin irritations but i'm not sure.
Several months ago I got a bug bite on my scalp, which hasn't healed- and I have a whole lot of scabs and irritation on my scalp that just won't heal. My scalp is just dry and painful. i've seen the doc (primary care) and gotten steroid ointment, and I know it's possible it was e.g. a spider bite or other nasty bug. But I started wondering if anyone's had similar slow-healing/ chronic wound issues w/ lamictal, if the meds could be a piece somehow.

I'd see a dermatologist. Don't think it's related to lamictal. Love Phillipa

Thanks Phillipa.
I made a new appointment w/ the general doc for tomorrow- we'll see if they help
& whether to talk about the lamictal w/them-- since they don't tend to know much about that...

Well let them know you are lamictal in case they prescribe another med for the wound. No interractions wanted. Love Phillipa

I had slow wound healing problems, led to several surgeries while I was a competitive athlete. Worst drug on earth as far as I'm concerned. Surgeon later admitted that lamictal was a probable cause of the slow healing, low tensile strength tissue.
