Trish, how are you feeling on Abilify?

Posted by rosa63 on December 1, 2006, at 12:50:08

I am having the same reaction that you were having to Abilify at 4mg...very irratable and grouchy. Are those side effects subsiding? Have you added something to counter the side effects? I was thinking about Seroquel; however, Blueberry has me scared of even taking AP's alltogether because of the risk of tardive dyskinesia. It sounds like it is a matter of WHEN and not IF we will develop this syndrome due to the AP's? UGGGG....

Hi there-
When I complained to the doc about these issues he told me the drug was wearing off too quickly so he upped my dose to 5mg. It definitely stay with me longer. But, I too am scared of the long term side effects of taking an antipsychotic. I am supposed to be taking Abilify for the antidepressant side effects and as a mood stabilizer.

I know that all drugs have side effects, but sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't be better off taking a small dose of Wellbutrin & Effexor.

I just don't know. I have also noticed that I get really hungry sometimes.

I LOVED this combo. I had to stop taking it a couple of years ago and tried to get back on it recently and I am now allergic to Wellbutrin. If you can tolerate the Wellbutrin, do it! So many people I know have conquered depression with this drug.
