greeting all.....
my doc (psychiatrist) is goin on sabatical, so he refered me to a new guy, ( that i have yet to see, but will real soon )....
after i feel him out... if i no like and want to change....
My QUESTION is: should i go with a(A) a psychiatrist --- or ---
(B) a psych-specialized pharmacologist....The reason being that i do much research on all my meds, ( when i was younger i wanted to be a pharmacist ) have been on just about EVERYTHING... and in many many cases knew MORE than my doctors... there have been times that i have suggested "cocktails" or meds that they said :
" you have a point there.... that sounds like it would work,
you really do your homework "Whichever flavor Doc. I go with i plan to augment with a "talking" analyst/therapist... havnt been to one in about 5 years... BUT now i think i NEED that again.... as i dont talk to anyone really.
so in short : psychiatrist -or- psych-specialized pharmacologist
just need a doc for the med scripts....ANY info, thoughts, experiances etc would be GREATLY GREATLY appreciated, so Thanks in Advance
regards...[ BKD ]

Hi. My doc lets me discuss only meds sometimes for periods lasting a year sometimes. And when I want to talk he lets me just talk. Sometimes he will ask a weird Q out of nowhere, but I wont discuss it if I'm not coozy with the topic. It seem like a good thing. Maybe somewhere in the middle of your 'options' would be a good thing to try? Good Luck. =)
