Posted by jonh kimble on March 15, 2007, at 10:32:45

Can people list anything does or may help with sleep at all, including teas, supplements excercise regimines, drugs, etc... I know of calcium/ magnesium, tryptophan, theanine, melatonin, running, chamomile tea, taking a shower before bed, keeping your room cool, etc... Please list anything else that you think might be applicable. Thanks a bunch!

Lavender tea. 'Extra Tension Tamer'(celestial seasonings). Chamomile with mint tea served hot with milk.

supplements:
Valerian Root

excercise regimines:
Yoga

Dont eat 3 hours before bed. Get up at the same time everyday, lay down to go to sleep same time every day. Try to stay up 18 hours during the day. Try to make everything like clockwork. Read, instead of watch tv. (It can be flashy and obnoxious to your eyes and brain).

Drugs: Everything you see on tv. If All that doesnt work try remeron or seroquel.

Dont drink alcohol for sleep. I think it messes with REM. I had a spell where I was up for 3 days straight, and down a 1/2 bottle of Jack. Didnt phase me, just made me wonder if there is a picture of a subliminal horse on the label.

Good luck Thomas!

Seroquel is my godsend. Tried Ambien, Rozerem, Restoril and Trazodone. Finally Seroquel works like a charm.

Ask you doc for sample packet and you will know in the first two days whether or not Seroquel works. No waiting for 4-6 weeks.
