does it have sexual side affects? In reading a couple articles, they dont mention it like they do with other meds. Also, is it good for anxiety?
Thanks in advance

has helped me a great deal with anxiety, but i also take wellbutrin. however, my anxiety decreased much more after adding remeron than with just wellbutrin alone. i can't say much about sexual sides (see my post above about permanent sexual sides from ssris). i've heard that they can happen but there's a good chance that they won't. i think it's a good med after your body adjusts to it, which took 3-4 weeks for me.

It was actually pro-sexual for me at 15mg - neutral at 30mg and 45mg. The weight gain can get annoying, though so be ready for that.

I started remeron again about 3 weeks ago at 15 mg. Yes, it helps with anxiety but I have noticed there is some start up anxiety at times too. The sedation aspect of remeron helps with this so it is much better for me than ssris. Ssris cause unbearable anxiety for me. Any start up anxiety is tolerable and I am very med sensitive.
On the sexual side. I find this time around it has no negatvie effect, but just possibly a positive one and that is not bad at all:)
I believe any sexual side effects that I experienced before was due to other meds I was on at the time. Now, remeron is all I take. I have gad/anxiety/ocd issues. Hope this helps.PS. It does take some time getting used to just like all drugs. The sedation is improving without a detrimental affect on sleep too. Fatigue was bad at first too. It does get better.

I took Remeron some years ago. I remember it as being sexually neutral at medium dose. It was very sedative and caused weight gain.
At very high dose (60+ mg) it suddenly kicked in and became very activating and very pro-sexual.
Anxiety has never bothered me much so I cant say much about that.

Yes, luvox was too stimulating for me. It was ok at 12.5 but 25 caused severe insomina. I think I slept 2 hours that night. I think it is a good med but I can't seem to handle it or probably any ssri.

No sexual side effects, but no effects either. Didn't do anything for my anxiety or depression. Just made me sleep and eat.

canyon, I have taken remeron, and while on it I had no sexual side effects. Also it worked for my anxiety at lower doses.

> Thanks in advanceHi Canyon17,
I've only had a few very brief (couple day) trials with Remeron. It definitely worked for anxiety--in fact this and sleep improvement were the primary effects for me. I experienced no sexual side effects. I'm sure you'll learn that sedation and weight gain are notorious with this med, but many say the sedation wanes and weight gain can be avoided. Not to scare you but if you develop flu-like symptoms this can be serious so report this to your doc asap if it happens (less than 1 in 1000).
I am extremely med-sensitive. I can't even take an SSRI. That said, I'm considering a more meaningful trial of Remeron in the near future.
Good luck and health...Peace...Saturn.
