Amisulpride and Tianeptine together?

Posted by jaybee9 on June 2, 2007, at 5:17:53

I have just recieved my Amisulpride and i'm starting on 50 mg per day for dystyhmia and social anxiety. I also have some tianeptine on the way which was recommended to me, just wondered if anyone has tried these two together and what were the results.

Thanks

I added Amisulpride 50mg to tianeptine 37.5mg/day once. The amisulpride didn't seem terribly effective to me. It raised my mood just a little, but made me a bit cloudy in the head. I didn't take it for more than a few weeks, but it didn't seem the med for me. However, I don't think this means all that much, because atypical antipsychotics like amisulpride don't seem to do much for me. There were no particular negative effects I observed from combining the two meds.

Best of luck,

Thanks for your reply psychobot,

Could you tell me how you find the tianeptine, I've been on the amisulpride for four days now and done really notice an improvement in my mood, I just feel a little bit groggy.Im hoping the tianeptine will be much better.

Kind regards

Well, one thing I've learned from reading posts here is that experiences vary with tianeptine, but here's mine: it raises my mood modestly, and relieves anxiety somewhat, as well as making it just a little easier to concentrate. It doesn't give me difficulties sleeping like so many other medications, nor fogginess in the head or any other unpleasant side-effects - something quite rare for an antidepressant. It seems to work fairly quickly, often in 1-2 weeks. I'd recommend it, though of course I'd suggest that the amisulpride side-effects might become more tolerable after a few weeks. Some posters here seem to like it.

Best of luck!
