Prozac is more activating at least it was for me. I took paxil l0mg as my first ad with xanax when it worked. Love Phillipa

prozac or zoloft, just because they are easier to discontinue. I found Paxil didn't agree with me.

It's always individual -- your mileage may vary -- but Paxil tends to be more sedating than Prozac. Is "sedating" the same as "anxiolytic?" Probably not. Is Prozac likely to be too anxiety provoking for you? No way to tell, except to try it.

If it sounds as though I'm not saying Paxil is a better choice for you, that's because I am not a big fan of the drug. Out of all the SSRIs, it's associated with the worst side effects. Only Luvox is more sedating. Common side effects include sleep disturbances, sexual dysfunction -- the worst of the SSRIs for this, they say -- weight gain, constipation, apathy, sedation... It's also contraindicated for anyone who might have a pregnancy in the near future -- male as well as female.

Is there any reason you're limiting your question to these two?

Yea, because these two have both worked for me in the past, and i've tried em all. Prozac is a close second because i felt it may be to activating.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense :-) (nm) » King of Nothing
