Well, I came off prozac completely 3 weeks ago after a tappering off of my dose for about 3 weeks. I have found the last week very hard through tiredness and the last week had awfull nausea! I am finding sex with my guy more fun and I am pleased I am coming off the meds, but I suppose I was a little nieve as to the strange symptoms. I have been having recurrent dreams, and have fallen into a pattern of sleeping 12 hours one night and then 4 the next!
I searched on the net and then read the posts from 99 to 05 which led me here and I was really interrested in the depth and range of everybodies side effects.
I have involuntary muscle movements too, I have allways had a little spasm in my neck from an accident years ago, but now I have other ones too.
If any one could let me know about their experiences, give tips, or send my where there are current threads, that would be great!

I recently came off prozac completely too and didn't really notice any side effects. Prozac leaves your system sooooo slowly that it kind of tapers itself out (at least that is what my pdoc told me).
My question is why did you go on prozac to begin with?

Hi Nathan
I started prozac about a year ago mainly due to depression, panic attacks and suicidal impulses. I was also crying all the time and struggled with day to day life! I then lost my job had a car accident and lost my appartment in one day, so appreciated the fact that I was still on the meds. I decided to change my life and I am now living and working in italy.
I have become aware of the self destructive thought patterns that I had developed during my past relationship and work on these now. And I also have learnt how to stop a panic attack from completely over taking my body. So I am in a much better state now and am determined to not spend my life on drugs!! I now have good things in my life and finally enjoy my lifestyle and friends. But have found coming off the tablets strange! I wanted info from people with any related experiences as sometimes I am unsure as to which symptom is down to coming off the drugs or my new lifestyle.
I am really pleased that you did not find symptoms when coming off!! How are things now with you? x

Well, not so well.
The symptoms of my depression came back. I tried to tell myself that it wasn't depression, but rather all sorts of things, but it was depression.
I'm back on prozac now and feeling a bit better. I have such horrible anxiety when starting prozac that it is hard to start back, but that is beginning to wane after about a week.
I have already stopped feeling so hopeless and a lot of "physical ailments" have gone away.
I wish you the best off the prozac because I know that for a lot of people depression is quite situational and they don't require lifetime therapy.
Good luck in your new life.
Natie
