Hi All.
Is it important to take your anti-d's 12 hours after / before your anti-psy's?Cos I am kinda worried the anti-psy's could nullify the effects of the antidepressent since they antagonise most of the receptors...
But its prolly a different mechanism alltogather.. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM?

So long as you can tollerate the two taken simultainiously I don't think one would cancel the effect of the other completely. This is, of course, if you have noticed that the AP does infact augment the SSRI.
The atypicals, at least, block mainly serotonin 5-ht2a/c. In depression that responds to this approach, reduced activity at these receptors may be theraputic.
Some have postulated that the AD effect is mediated via 5-ht1a stimulation. AP's won't block this receptor, and may indirectly enhance activation of this receptor by blocking other receptor subtypes.
