Best Time Of Day To Take Deplin - With Food?

Posted by bulldog2 on March 31, 2008, at 15:14:23

Would morning or evening be better? Also does it work better with or without food?
I'm goin to ask my p-doc for deplin because I remember a comprehensive blood panel showed high homocysteine which is one of the markers for low folate. The doc (not p-doc) recommendation was to lower protein but I don't know if there's a connection between protein intake and homocysteine.

Deplin website says doesn't matter when you take it with or without food. And it also states the side effects are like a sugar pill. So none. Protein from what sources causes the elevation? Phillipa

He didn't say what type of protein. Think he may have meant animal sources of protein. But the reality is I could have a folate deficiency which he never checked.

Wonder what the test to test for folate is????? Well if a B vitamin I'd think it is water soluble so you'd pee the excess out. Don't you? Love Phillipa
