hey i have a huge work assignment coming up in 4 weeks and would really like to have achieved some stability by then. as i posted in a recent thread i tried luvox for a week but came off due to suspected joint pain (i always give meds the allocated 6-8 weeks but here just got scared off by mentions of arthritis etc.). anyway the pain did calm down but i realise i was a little rash. so as far as bad OCD/some anxiety/some depression/medium depersonalization (heh) goes i still have the LUVOX, as well as a ZOLOFT and EFFEXOR XR prescription from my pdoc. i wanted to try ZOLOFT but i often read of it making depersonalization worse? i assume that's just like any other side side effect and can strike at random? anyway i'm terrible at decision making and was just wondering what a reliable bet might be . ..

Luvox first choice then zoloft. Phillipa ps have taken both on low luvox for years. No side effects for me.

Hi,
4 weeks is cutting it pretty close. Don't know your diagnosis, but if appropriate why not try a stimulant? At least their effects are immediate and provided your not manic, would help you focus on the work. My favourite is modafinil.
take care
M.

i realise 4 weeks is close. but i am not in total shambles - i am functioning pretty normally, work-wise, just with persistent thought discomfort. stimulants are not widely available where i'm from and its quite difficult to have a doc prescribe them as a frontline. rather than expect a miracle in 4 weeks i just wanted to know which med might be most reliable since i dont want to be tapering off/starting new stuff in the middle of a project, though i realise that's a hard q since everyone reacts differently etc

neither effexor nor luvox are promising as far as stability
with the zoloft you have a chance of "being there" in 4 weeks
i have similar problems with matching med start-up with work schedule
good luck
