Hi everyone,
it seems TMS was approved for depression treatment:

Would you know why there seems no interest in this development?

Looks scarey to me. Don't you have to continue meds afterwards? Phillipa

I have been going to Atlanta for the past six years for twice-yearly TMS treatment for major depression, which is resistant to drugs. It works extremely well, although the effects are not very long-lasting.
I am personally thrilled that it has finally been approved, and look forward to being able to get it on an as-needed basis close to home. So here is one very happy and excited person! If you are one of the people for whom it works, it is such a clean, side-effect- free treatment. No cognitive dulling, no memory loss. no weight gain, no apathy- just a brief sharp pain in the scalp when the pulses are given. I take one vicodin beforehand, and then it's very tolerable.

I usually find that two treatments-really, just one, but I have another for "insurance"-result in a complete remission which lasts several weeks. Then there is a gradual return of the depression over the next several months. It takes a few months to reach "moderately severe" on the Beck scale.. At that point I go back for two more treatments. Now that it will be available here, we will be trying different treatment frequencies so as to spend as much time as possible in remission- hopefully, it will close to 100%!.
I should say that I had my initial TMS treatment six years ago; it consisted of three weeks of daily treatments. I notice that now the company is suggesting six weeks of daily treatment for new patients

No, I don't. I only know of its use for major depression and bipolar. I think the Neuronetics website may have an area where you can ask that question
This is the end of the thread.
