I am wondering if anyone has been successful in tapering off of trileptal. what was your rate of taper and what other meds were you on while tapering.....also if you have ever tapered off of or c/t'd benzodiazapines....I feel quite compromised since my c/t off of ativan...

First welcome to babble. You're currently weaning off ativan or just stopped it. Trileptal what dose and what for? Took low dose of it in past as booster for ad. Phillipa

actually i am on 2100 mgs of trileptal....it helped me when i c/t'd off ativan 2 1/2 years ago after a failed benzo w/d.....i was also put on 2400 mgs of neurontin also for the same reason...i have tapered the neurontin already....and had a hard time with just a 300 mg cut of trileptal,,,i updosed 150 mgs and that didn't help so have gone all the way back up....maybe a 150 mg cut would have been ok, i dont know cuz i started with that 300 mg cut,,,still haven't stabilized after about 4-5 days....it may take a couple weeks...sigh....

Isn't that a high dose of trileptal for what condition are you using it for? Love Phillipa

ya, but that is what it took to pull me out of w/d's.....and i have been at that dose for 2 1/2 years so what is done is done,,,,now i just need to try to get stable again, meaning this horrible anxiety and breating thing,,,,and then taper much slower.....i would like to talk to anyone who has done it....

Late answer just here at bottom of page a list of all boards on babble just hit with mouse withdrawal board. Maybe there is a thread there if not google trileptal withdrawal good luck!!!!! Love Phillipa
