Arent there two separate conditions. Anxiety and treatment with benzos for it or some SSRI etc but if you take a benzo does it interfer with the ad working? Or are some just depressed? What's the difference anyone know. Seriously. Phillipa

Golly, that's a real chicken and the egg question for me. As I go down the therapeutic path, unraveling ptsd, today I'd say, for me, early-onset anxiety preceded depression. However, everyone is different. Anxiety, I think, just broke me down. And so, here I am :-)

I think they are two separate conditions but they usually go together, if that makes sense. I can totally see where anxiety could lead to depression. When I first suffered from depression in my teens I never had anxiety. It was only in my 30s that the anxiety started to occur. It's unbearable.

yes, one can precipitate the other i think. until recently, i was in complete denial about my depression because i had always considered myself an anxiety sufferer - which, for all its hassles, kept me motivated. now i just sit around all day.

i always suffered anxierty, an like you took a benzo now an then to help, anxierty kept me stick thin but with my job in consruction, built muscle to, in fact my body looked cool, sort of moddona muscle but a man,but anxierty took to much strain on my body an would bring me down to depression,i started an ad ,prozac an after a while didnt need benzos, but i grew fat on the med an it pooped in the end.since then i tried loads of ad,s an always used a benzo till they kicked in , or as in most case,s didnt,i should have changed my job but the money was great an i was good at bricklaying, but the heavy work load an my anxierty dragged me down till i would litraly pass out at work, depression realy took hold , i now im unable to work ,you no i take the benzo with my ad meds,i put on weight no matter how i eat or exercise i dont like it an its not natural for my body, but thats the way it goes
