You're probably not taking enough. Keep upping the dose until it works.
One time for particularly bad anxiety I was taking Xanax and Klonopin (Xanax 4x day, K 2x day), and I needed that to control things.
But often when people wonder why benzos aren't working it is because they aren't taking enough.

Can I assume you have tried the SSRIs? Especially Paxil or Lexapro? Those have really helped me for GAD (and are good for panic too)
Your dose of clonazepam is rather low, purely based on my own experience. I have taken it before for anxiety (for 2 -3 years) but more as an SOS drug ( I get these 'anxiety attacks')and have needed higher doses. Like 1-2 mg in one go But then at those doses it's sedating. But there are other very good drugs for anxiety around. My personal best experiences have been with the SSRIs.... but I'm sure people will come up with other options if you have tried those or are averse to them.
Take care

Is it the same with SNRIs?
As the others have mentioned, you are on a low dose. You should see if you can get a higher one. You were on benzos before (right?) so your body is probably getting used to them.

Klonopin caused depression in me and SSRI's and SNRI's do nothing for anxiety for me even with benzos just increase it or did in the past. Phillipa

Hey SB,
Clonazepam worked well for me, but I took it three times per day for a total of 1.5 mg per day. I needed that much. In many ways, it worked better for me for chronic anxiety that xanax or xanax er. Sometimes I would go up to a total of 2mg per day--but that was rare; however everyone is different. I used to try to keep my dosage to the barest possible until my pdoc said I was really suffering needlessly.
Some (myself included) find Clonazepam a bit of a depressant. If that is not a problem, I think it is a very good, deep acting benzo. I might switch back because my xanax xr (for 3mg per day) does not give the same guaranteed coverage.
best regards,
fb

Long acting xanax seriously was a disaster to me where regular is okay. Love Phillipa
