sorry to be a complete neurotic, but i was wondering if headaches on stims are a bad sign. my doctor wants me to give Ritalin LA (30mg) a two-week trial, but last night as it wore off (my first day on it) I got the worst, pounding headache. I took it today and had a headache pretty much from the get-go which has lasted all day.
i'm happy to put up with S/e's for a week or two, as long as they're benign, to see how the drug effects me, but i'd really rather not do any damage to myself.

I've tried many stims and the only one that gave me a bad headache was the Provigil. In the end, I had to stop taking it because of the headaches.
Maybe you could try Adderall XR and see how that works.
Take care.

maybe it's a blood pressure thing? i almost put my fist through the wall this afternoon.
adderall isn't available where i live. just ritalin, ritalin LA, dexedrine IR, and desoxyn.
unfortunately, Ritalin seems to be the drug-of-choice for adult ADD here. i'll ask if i can try dexedrine instead. i imagine desoxyn is out of the question. :<

What about Concerta? Is that available? It's longer acting than the LA Ritalin. I don't like the way these meds crash at the end of the day so longer acting, the better in my opinion.

In my experience (dexadrine) the headaches subsided fairly quickly, a week, maybe....
Headaches, in my case, are dose dependent. If I exceed my usual dosage, I could get a headache.
best, fb
