For Scott - Parnate Hypotension

Posted by bulldog2 on November 30, 2009, at 15:37:28

I've heard that Parnate causes pooling at the bottom of the legs due to hypotension. This can cause a leaden feeling in the legs. Does this side pass.

Also does the stimulant side effect pass. I remember in the beginning a dose felt like ritalin and did spike bp temporarily. Does this pass also.

I really didn't know that edema was an issue with Parnate.

It did with me. In fact, it doesn't matter much how late in the day I take it anymore. It doesn't disturb my sleep. I don't feel revved up or hyperactive, or stimulated. I really didn't like that feeling, so I'm glad it dissipated.

Hi:
Parnate gave me edema; face, hands, feet, for a few weeks then it went away. Don't have any now.

Now I can also take Parnate any time, but that took a few months for me.

I never had edema from Parnate. I did from Nardil and it didn't go away.
