I'm just hearing so many wonderful things about Parnate and that's my next step. But, I'm wondering if anyone has had complete success on EMSAM. This is day 10 (3 on 9mg) and the bottom has lifted just a bit. Does it get better than that?

So good to hear from you! I just posted to your last thread. Some posted that emsam did not kick in until 12. Glad the bottom has lifted for you--maybe this is the beginning of your response. I hope it continues. Others can post their info--I have no experience w/ emsam.
sending good thoughts your way,

Phillipa - EMSAM is VERY activating for me, too activating. It has heped with my depression, but I no longer think I can handle the med.
I am looking at going back to Celexa 5mg (what I was successful on for years before a PDOC suggested a change).

RSidney,
I'm considering changing my dexadrine/xanax/pristiq combo for emsam. I need activation. I'm sorry to hear it did not work out for you, though--the washout isn't fun. When can you start Celexa? And such a low dose--sounds wonderful.

Why did the pdoc suggest a change to what seemed to be working? Curious.

I thrived on 5mg daily Celexa for 7 years, no problems with emotions.
However, Celexa caused me to have erectile dysfunction, so my wife and I went and saw a PDoc who took me off Celexa and onto only Klonopin, huge mistake. Within 6 weeks I feel into the worst anxiety/depression of my life.I am hoping that gonig back to the 5mg Celexa will work again. I am CYP 450 2D6 poor metabolizer, which is why low doeses (only) of SSRI's work.
Let me check that, praying that the 5 mg will work again. I dont see why it would't??

Finally I know what poor metabolizer of 450 means. That's a pity you stopped a med that was working. Could you use viagra? or cyalis (sp?). Phillipa

RSidney,
I wish you the best in your transition. I tried a mono-therapy of xanax and that led to the worst MD of my life as well.
Very good luck to you with your small dose!

in retrospect going to Viagra or Cialis would have been a MUCH better option, yes.
This is the end of the thread.
