Hi,
Dx: MDD and Anxiety (have no melancolic symptoms anymore)
Rx: Lexapro 20mg (morning) - tapered to 10mg yesterday
Effexor XR- 37.5mg nightMy meds were changed from Lex to Effexor XR yesterday - downed lex to 10mg yesterday morning (supposed to take 10mg for another 5 days and then change to 5mg).... took my first ever effexor XR 37.5mg last night.... within an hour I felt that I am not wanting to do anything - felt quite passive - I thought I ought to be fatigue.
Been awake since past 6 hours today and have not felt like doing ANYTHING at all, just want to sit and stare around. Dont feel like talking, dont feel like reading/watching TV, nothing..... feeling absolutely indifferent towards everything. Cannot even turn my head to look around.......Feeling like a complete zombie.Could a small 37.5mg dose of Effexor taken once cause this?

Hi,
I know it's been a while since you posted, so you may have gotten through your phase already. I have gone onto Effexor twice now. The first was from nothing, and this time, I'm switching from Lexapro. Both times, I have gone through (am currently going through) a period of extreme anergia and apathy where everything is such a chore and even the simplest tasks seem very difficult. This feeling passed before, and I am pretty sure it will go away this time too. It's just something you have to live with for a little while.
Let me know if you feel any better now, because that will reassure me as I am feeling that way right now.
Blossom
