A 20mg to 10mg lexapro taper to allow starting a 37.5mg Effexor XR could give me the Lex withdrawal? or would the Effexor take care of it?
Have been feeling like a zombie since I took my first dose of Effexor XR 37.5 mg last night.... eyes fixed, mind frozen, spaced out, detached from the world.... is this lex withdrawl.... my last 20mg of lex was 2 days ago, have taken 10mg since yesterday...
I have skipped my effexorXR tonight to see if I still feel the zombie/spacedout feeling tomorrow....

Personally I'd think the effexor would cover you. Did you call your pdoc? Phillipa

I would think it wouldn't. Lexapro is a very potent SRI inhibitor, effexor is not. 37.5 mg of effexor is nothing compared to 10 mg lexapro. Your doc should have weened you down to 5mgs. I think, the 10 mg lexapro tabs can be broken in half.
I don't think he should have had you switch over to effexor but rather withdrawal completely from lexapro. I don't like this switching over crap unless it makes the situation easier like going from paxil to prozac to ween off or something. The problem is exactly what is happening to you. You don't no if its lexapro withdrawal or effexor start up side effects. Its probably both and perhaps a healthy person can handle them, but they are very frightening to someone who has anxiety or depression already.I have a feeling some of this might pass in a couple days though.

you asked the same question in the last post//an i said what conundrum just told you//its a basic rule to wash out //not taper these drugs/you no its what your trouble is even a nut like me can suss that//tell your doc or is he a shamen if he carnt get the basic,s right bin him
