I've decided I need something for motivation so I'm adding 2.5 mg fluoxetine while waiting to see if lamotragine does anything. Right now I have zero motivation to do anything. I need something to give me a kick. I have old bills and stuff to pay and taxes to do and I just let them sit. I decided to add it myself. Even if I get the motivation to start something I can't stay focused. Fluoxetine keeps me motivated and focused. There is an interaction between fluoxetine and lamotragine but I'm not really worried since I only need 2.5 mg of prozac for motivation. I don't want to wait around and see if lamotrigine might help. I need something to keep me moving in my life in the time being. Just hope it doesn't make headaches worse.

It is interesting that you should respond to such a low dosage. Do you think that you are getting 5-HT2c receptor blockage without reuptake inhibition at that dosage?
Well, whatever the case may be, I hope you get the motivation you are looking for.

I've been noticing that people seem to take lower and lower doses of meds. Anyone else see this trend? Phillipa

Thats what I think although I can't say. It increases motivation and concentration so it could be that. On the other hand it helps me sleep better, so did lexapro, so that could be from the serotonin and maybe that is why? However lexapro never made me more motivated, so I'd guess 5 HT2C antagonism. Also when I increased to 5 mg I stopped wanting to eat for a couple days so the increase in 5 HT2C agonism probably started to kick in. One big downside is that both drugs give me headaches. I hope its tolerable.
