I just recently started Geodon (with a new pdoc) after going into a mixed state. So far it is really helping my symptoms BUT I get very tired around 4 hours after my morning dose. Dose this SE ease up at all? I've only been on it for a few days. I'm suppose to go up to 120mg but there's no way at this point until I adjust. Does anyone take it all at night? It's always at the 4 hour mark for me, so I take my evening dose around 7:30pm and I'm out for the night when I want to be. The problem is during the day, I get so tired I have been forced into some naps that I really don't want to take, and it's not a quick nap either, more like a 2 hours of extra sleep.
Any input always appreciated! herpills

I was actually started on 80mg. I needed symptom control fast. So far it is helping a lot. I did search p-babble seems many start at a lower dose. Perhaps the sleepiness hit me hard with the higher starting dose. I'm still at 80mg for now. herpills

Geodon has a realy short half life, 7 hours, so you would have to space out the doses. 4 hours is probably when the med is at its strongest, it takes 3 hours to kick in. Maybe you should call your doctor and tell them that the increased dose is too strong and you would like to stay at the previous dose.

I'm staying at 80mgs still for now, but I was supposed to go up to 120 a few days ago. I'm still getting tired after the morning dose, I rarely drink coffee now I'm having a double espresso before lunch which helps, but it's funny I don't feel the caffeine "buzz" at all where as before I would be bouncing of the walls.I think I'll add the second 40mg at night and see what happens.
The tired/drowsy feeling is the only side effect I am having so far. It's frustrating because the med is working for me but if this doesn't go away in another week I might have to try something else.
