Hello everyone

Posted by RocketMan on June 26, 2010, at 16:43:30

Been away for approx.7 mths so thought I'd drop in to say hi :-)
Doing quite well with my meds, have been exercising daily and eating well (lost 45lbs!) I'm now at 205lbs which is perfect for my height - 6'2".
Current meds are;
Effexor 112.5mg
Remeron 15mg
Lamictal 100mg
Diazepam 5mg/2 day

The big change is I stopped my 25yrs with clonazepam and made the switch to diazepam! Seems to help somewhat with my mood along with being recently diagnosed with Meniere's disease.

Anyway, hope to stop in more frequently and hope everyone keeps well.

Regards,
Rick

great news, do you mind me asking how much clonazepam you were taking and how you switched over to diazepam?

I was taking 0.5mg/tid. Not much considering I was taking 2mg/qid in the late 80's/90's!

I replaced morning clonaz dose with diazepam 5mg for 2 weeks. Then replaced evening dose as same for 2 weeks. The next 2 weeks I eliminated the 3rd clonaz afternoon dose. It went fairly smooth considering my brain was fed with clonazepam for 25 years!! There are moments when I feel as though a third diazepam 5mg is required so I'll play it day by day for now.

Regards,
Rick

Man I'm 5"8' and 134Ibs. I'm copping major grief from my family that I'm SEVERLY underweight and my BMI is 20.4.

I do think BMI's are a total load of crap, but man, you seriously need to put on some weight. Good luck, that's a dangerous weight for your height. When my BMI was 18.7 I looked like death. It was all stressed induced

I'm on 2mg tid at the moment, I need to change that. I can get to 4mg twice a day quite easily when needed but things aren't good for now.

Well in my defence, the normal BMI for this height indicates that the lower cutoff for a "healthy" body weight is 140. So technically I'm only 5 pounds under healthy. Well. Hmm.

I actually don't think I look to bad.
I've got a nice 6 pac and no visible bones, just zero body fat.

I'm so sorry, I wasn't having a go at you, just concerned. BMI's for us shorter people are really, really wrong. I do believe they majorly contribute to the ever growing anorexia problem.

Actually my uncle is 6"2' and is of normal weight, leaning towards more slender than anything else and his BMI said he was obese, go figure.
