So my pdoc and i have decided we will try me on just antivconvulsants. I start tapering Celexa from 20mg-10mgs and Risperdal from 2mg-1mg today.
I'm going to try and adjust to those new doses and go back and see him in a month or two. I was a little anxious about tapering both at the same time but he says this is the best way to do it. He said if i just tapered Celexa (like i suggested) the Risperdal would be there on the other side suppressing my soon to be lower level of serotonin and obviously the dopamine and i would feel squashed.
I'm not really worried about depression coming back. I've done a year and half of therapy and have made a lot of progress with my self esteem issues. I more worried about my obsessiveness and neurotic ruminations coming back and of course the brain zaps with the withdrawal.
Anyhow i will be blogging about my progress at:
http://www.thethoughtgame.blogspot.com/You guys keep me in your thoughts. I think we all know how bad these tapers can suck sometimes.
