I have purchased a supply of Mebicar (Adaptol). It has been on the market for a while and I have not given it a trial yet.

Mebicar is a Russian medication. As far as I can tell, it has been used in Russia since about 1980. Mebicar is not a benzo, it is chemically quite different.
As appears to be the case with all Soviet drugs, it is extremely difficult to find any decent research, even on PubMed. What I do know is that mebicar is used clinically as a tranquilliser. How it works, I have no idea.
