I weaned off Wellbutrin and its been 2 wks since I've been off completely and I can feel the depression coming back for sure. I stopped wellbutrin because it definitely caused more anxiety and memory loss....because I weaned off...I didn't have any problem with withdrawal (unless depression coming back is withdrawal). I have continued to take Celexa as I was taking both. Don't know if it is withdrawal thats causing the depression to return or just that I need another antidepressant.

I think you should try anouther AD. I take wellbutrin, and the only reason I still take it is because its keeping me from smoking. Might give me a little energy too. I'm taking 200mg. I found it made me anxious as well. But it gives me a little lift as well.

Do you take anything with the Wellbutrin to counteract the anxiety? The Wellbutrin really helped at first especially with losing weight...now the food cravings are coming back as well. Maybe I should just go back on the Wellbutrin. The highest I was on was 150XL and then went to 100SR and then cut the 100SR in half and finally in quarters. The Celexa never did work well for me on its own thats why the dr. added the Wellbutrin in the first place.

Yes! I take zyprexa 15mg and perphenazine 3x 12mg. I'm sure I would not be able to take the wellbutrin sr with out them. Do you take any other meds?

I take 20mg Celexa and Ativan. I take 1mg ativan at night and 1/4-1/2 mg during the day if I need it. When taking Wellbutrin I seem to always need it. I've been on Wellbutrin for approx a year and it helped me a lot in beginning however than the body tension and memory loss started. I guess it could be the Celexa too as I have been on Celexa for about 2yrs and it stopped working well so my dr added the wellbutrin. Obviously there is something in wellbutrin that I need. Wish I knew if it was norepinephrine or dopamine. I believe Celexa only affects seratonin levels. How long have you been taking Wellbutrin? Have you always taken the SR?

Im on zoloft / wellbutrin and I dont feel like the wb is doing anything except causing anxiety. I dont know why but other stimulating drugs dont seem to do this, just wb.
You could ask about adding something for the anxiety.. like buspar or a beta blocker.
Not much else out there thats quite like wellbutrin. Maybe try an NRI next?

Do you take anything for the anxiety? Does the Zoloft work well for your depression? I have been prescribed Inderal (I also have essential tremor, not caused by meds) but don't know anybody that takes it everyday with wellbutrin, wish I could find others that do.

Always sr. Except for a week of xl, which I didn't like. It does sort of lift mood, but also anxiety. For me anyways. I've been taking wellbutrin sr since 2003. I took celexa also for about 7 years. The celexa didn't cause memory lose for me. I started with brand name wellbutrin and it didn't cause memory lose, just made me very anxious and hard to concentrate. I found the side effects of the generic much better. The effect was different too and took a few months to stablize and get use to the generic.

zoloft seems to handle the pain and the anger I get with depression pretty well. But the apathy, fatigue and anhedonia remain. Im pretty sure those are depressive symptoms.
Inderal might cancel out the extra NE from the wellbutrin. Its probably a lot more complex than just that though, like where in the brain it works and which receptors. Does it help with the physical anxiety symptoms at all?
Zoloft doesnt do a damned thing for my anxiety. But then again, raising the dose of zoloft also raises wellbutrin too. Who knows?
